Weaving Retreat on Camano Island with Mandy Greer June 9th-10th, 2017

Join Seattle fiber-based multidisciplinary artist, Mandy Greer, on a retreat to the woods of Camano Island for an expanded version of her popular Wall Hanging Weaving Basics Workshop, teaching the basics and more stitches of tapestry weaving in her own unique style, on handmade table looms with heddle, using a huge collection of luxurious boutique, handspun and hand-dyed yarns, roving and up-cycled fabric. This retreat will also feature a sampling of Alpaca yarns and roving from local Camano Island fiber farm, Sentinel Ranch!

Connect, slow down, be inspired by the calm of nature and inspire each other! We’ll be resting and creating together at a private rustically elegant hand-built timber frame lodge set on a 20 acre beaver pond wildlife sanctuary at the north end of Camano Island, WA.   Surrounded by 360 degrees of forest and wetlands at the end of a private road, come relax and explore the 2.5 acres of both landscaped and natural habitat, a 6 person enzyme-only hot tub, a large fire pit with café tables, a quiet reading nook under wisteria arbor, horse shoes and nearby state parks and beaches.

Lodging: I’ve prioritized creating a lot of different options financially to make this retreat accessible to people with a range of incomes. Rooms range from semi-private to a very special private adobe dome in the woods on the property with its own bathroom and kitchen, ranging from $60-$220 a night, with the option to share the rooms with a friend, two-night discounts and two-person friend discount for the workshop as well. Lodging includes linens/towels and a breakfast of homemade muffins and light European breakfast, coffee, tea and juice. Lodging is limited and first come-first served, so register quickly. Reserve lodging below.

Workshop fee: $95.00 per person, with 4 spots for day-trippers in no need of lodging. Two-Person Friend Discount is $160 for 2 people. Fee includes all tools, use of looms and materials, including Sentinel Ranch Alpaca, and snacks and drinks. Community Potluck Lunch the day of the workshop – bring a little-enjoy a lot! And optional $15 handcrafted vegetarian taco bar the evening following the workshop.   Register below.  WORKSHOP IS SOLD OUT.  Contact me to be placed on Wait List  Let me know what rooms you are interested in, if they come available.

ABOUT Registration :          PLEASE READ

-You must pre-register to reserve your spot in the workshop, and the lodging. A detailed informational email will be sent to you 3 weeks before the retreat. Please insure your paypal email is correct, or you won’t get this.

-Deadline to register is May 9th. If workshop and lodging minimums are not met by this date, the retreat will be canceled and you will receive a refund.

-You may cancel your registrations and be fully refunded within 24 hours of purchase. After that time, workshop fees and lodging are not refundable but can be transferred to a friend. Or contact me to see if there is a waiting list.

-Only registered workshop participants may stay the night.

-If workshop or lodging options sell out, contact me to be placed on a waiting list.

-The workshop is suitable for people 12 and up. Those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult who is also a registered participant.

-This is a community experience, not at a hotel with a staff. You will be expected to be responsible for yourself, your belongings and your mess. And to treat the beautiful property with respect. Which is great! It’s empowering being a responsible adult. Lodge House rules include shoes off inside, no smoking, and showering before using the enzymes- only hot tub.

-You may bring your own food to meet your dietary needs, but be aware that there is one fridge to share among all participants; as well cooking time in kitchen is shared.
