  1. Hi Mandy,

I just discovered your work ~ wow, I adore it ! … I am a painter in Las Vegas… though, I spent many years in Seattle… (Art Institute Student) … I do miss the lush green.

I just know that you would appreciate one of my recent paintings… seems like we are drawing from the same inspirational world … http://www.ragenmendenhall.com/veiledwithvioletirises.html

  2. Mandy, I noticed your work on facebook but couldn’t send you a email from it. I really like your work please tell em where in the Seattle area you have it showing? My 8 year son loves crocheting would liek to take him to see it. Thanks, Nina

    • Hi Nina!
I have an upcoming show at Roq la Rue Gallery in Belltown in Seattle, in January 2011. I also will probably be having a few community crochet events in support of the show where you and your son can come and crochet (I can teach). I went ahead and added you to my mailing list so you can get notices about these things. Thanks for your interest!

  3. Hello Mandy!

I am currently an undergrad at the University of Hartford, located in West Hartford, CT. For my photo senior seminar class we are required to pick a contemporary artist that is 35 and under, whose work somewhat relates to the work we wish to create and progress on through out the year. While researching contemporary installation artists I had stumbled upon some imagery from your “Dare alla Luce” installation you had done in 2008 at the Bellevue Arts Museum and was awestruck as well as taken aback by the nostalgic of the environment you had created.
I wish to create installation work of my own that mixes photographic, ceramic, and textile mediums. With these installations I hope to create environments that provoke the human’s inner emotions such as angst and disturbia. Although your “About me” profile tells a great deal about your work which is very helpful information to present to my class, I was wondering if you would be willing to email? So that I can further learn of your back round; which in turn will help me to articulate your work and you yourself as an artist to my class.

    • Hi Jacquelyn
Thanks for your interest, and I’d like to help out. I have been feeling like I need to include more of a background bio, but not had the time to write one. This may help me get started. I am under a deadline, so sorry about my late response…Why don’t you email me some questions that may be helpful for your project, then perhaps we could talk on the phone…writing answers to questions can take me awhile , too. Email me at greermandy@gmail.com and lets see what we can do!
      thanks! mandy

  4. Been a fan of your work for some time now. Can’t wait to see the show at Roq La Rue this Friday. Please add me to your mailing list. I would love to know about any crocheting activities your involved with.

  5. Hi Mandy,
I’m a teacher at Bow Lake Elementary and arrived at school this morning to your amazing installation of birds and branches. We are in awe, “eyes in the skies” and bumping into one another, each time we walk by or under the pieces. Just Beautiful! Thank you!
    Mandy S.

    • Thanks Mandy!
I’ll have lots of pictures up on the blog in the near future, of the birds at the school and being made. I am so glad everyone is enjoying the work!

  6. Hi Mandy,
Was fun talking with you and Hazel today at the Centrum studio….Was thrilled to look at your site….see your work…which I’ve been impressed with upon seeing it before …. glad to “meet the artist” and now know it is you. Hope your AIR goes well! And excited for your Iceland trip and work!
    Best wishes.

    • Gloria!
We had a great time at Centrum and enjoyed meeting you! Hazel spent a lot of time elaborating on the birdhouse you gave him. And now it hangs in a tree in our yard. Say hello to lovely 205!

  7. Hello Mandy,
I am a professor at Notre Dame de Namur in the San Francisco Bay Area. I am teaching in our PhD program in the Art Therapy department and you have been a great inspiration for one of our projects this year where students will be creating a costume. We are exploring archetypes, anthropology, Darwinism, culture, and spirituality and I will be showing some of your work in the class. Thanks for your fantastic work!

    • Dear Amy,
Thank you so much for contacting me. I’m so honored to have my work explored in your class! I would feel privileged to be able to see some of the resulting projects (and I’d love to have the reading list for your class!)
Thank you again for letting me know about this!

  10. Where do you do your workshops? I am not seeing location on your blog or website. Is there a workshop for the hat with the large pompoms? I am interested in signing up for 3 workshops.
